This item consists of a base and a cover. The base contains two drawers that are the same size. They were sized such that the foot control for the sewing machine could be stored in one of them. The drawers are assembled with half-blind dovetails. The drawer bottoms are 1/4" oak plywood. The top and bottom of the base are made of 1/2" oak plywood with a 1/2" solid oak edge on the front. The divider is 1/2" solid oak. The drawers slide freely in the base with no mechanical support or restraint.
The sides of the cover align with the sides of the base, but the front and back of the cover are larger and extend down to cover the base to keep the drawers from opening during transport. There is a small, narrow compartment inside the cover to hold the sewing machine's owners manual. The compartment is made of 1/4" oak veneered plywood. The front and back use raised panel construction with the panel made of 1/4" oak veneered plywood. The sides are solid 1/2" oak. The top of the cover is made from 3/4" oak plywood surrounded by solid solid oak strips that are mitered at the corners.
